We believe it is our responsibility to be a key partner in and with our local communities, investing money and time to support vital community organizations, infrastructure and etc. We contribute in a different ways: in infrastructure, including in social infrastructure such as schools, water reticulation, bridges, roads, etc.

We are one of regionally-based employers, with a direct workforce. Our company policy is to use local workforce, local contractors and suppliers for our operational needs wherever possible, which is ensuring our local communities benefit from our presence. Tanganyika Gold S.A.  employment procedures place a high priority on local training, recruitment and skill development. We work in collaboration with local educational institutions and governments to provide education and training opportunities with the goal of increasing local employment opportunities. Our representatives regularly hold meetings with local stakeholders. These meetings help to understand and address local issues and to communicate important information about Tanganyika Gold S.A. policies and programs.

Through industry and community membership and participation in a wide variety of programs, we contribute to the development of our local communities and to the strengthening of the industries we work in.

We seek every opportunity to engage with people in our communities about our activities and to provide an opportunity for feed back to our team. We enjoy sitting down with our community to hear thoughts and ideas. Open communication is central to the way we operate.

Tanganyika Gold S.A. respects the human rights, cultures, customs and values of those who are affected by our activities. We strive to ensure community engagement and involvement through community consultation and special events, and by partnering with various organizations for a range of community development programs.

If resettlement is necessary, we compensate all affected households by cash, or as a rule of resettlement will be to a location to other areas with a more developed infrastructure than to the regions from which the relocation takes place.

We engage continuously with national and local government – the Department of Mineral Resources, municipalities, community based organizations and organized labor on matters of mutual interest.

Stakeholder engagement is a continuous process. It is undertaken by individual employees are responsible engaging with a variety of local, national and international stakeholders on topics related to our operations. All our  operations have procedures for handling community issues, which are followed up to determine a mutually acceptable resolution.

For us this is just the start. We are committed to a long and beneficial partnership designed to boost services in the communities in which we operate.

Prospectively we are planning to create a Foundation, which will  plays an integral role in building local capacity and promoting economic and community sustainability. The Foundation will work with a group of local producers participating in the program. This Foundation will be creating big employment opportunities and economic development in the area during and after mine operations. All this not only create direct and indirect jobs, but also provide the Foundation with revenue to maintain social programs started by the communities.
